I'm not suggesting that we send them to different people. I'm suggesting
that we send ALL of them to one of the several people who HAVE slide
scanning capabilities.

Didn't Erik already offer to do it? I think he's the most experienced
computer person we have. I _know_ he's proficient with his scanning
equipment, I've seen the results. He also is able to burn CD's, an even
more important consideration.

I was responding to several psots by several people talking about
transfering photo files electronically, voting for winners via the APD,
etc. I don't think I was responding directly to anything you were saying.
I also don't think anyone meant any harm by it. They are just doing what
you did when you first brought this up on the APD... forgetting that APD
and AGA are not the same critter, though many of us are involved with both.

That, however, is a very different situation. AGA does not have a list,
and APD does not have a newsletter. Both are separate and distinct
entities. I have never felt any sense of a tug of war between APD and AGA,
nor would I want to see one now or in the future. It is still my
responsibility as an _AGA_ official to look out for the needs of _all_ of
our members.

Absolutely not. But there _are_ budget constraints on how many color pages
we can print each year. Color printing is $$$EXPENSIVE$$$. I'm sure we
could print photos of the winning tanks with no trouble. But with a CD, we
could probably put ALL entries on it, and possibly, all views of all entries.

As a fellow asthma sufferer, and the mother of two little wheezers, I
sympathize. Fortunately, we're all much worse in the winter than in the
summer. Feel better!
