Re: MCM - Digest V1 #8

Hi all,

I don't know if responding to the entire Digest of messages all at once is
going to be the best way to keep things organized, but here it goes anyway:

>Subject: MCM - Membership
Committee needs to add to its "TO DO LIST," (not necessarily before next
meeting:

>* Notify TAG editor with the number of labels each time they are printed
>
change this to
**Notify TAG editor (and all MCM members?) with the number of labels _to be
printed_ for the upcoming issue [see below: TAG editor will periodically
notify all MCM on the TAG schedule and target mailing date]

one?

** I suggest that the first entry be devoted to the "overview," with the
organizational chart.. and a ~1-2 sentence description of each committee
and subcommittee. This should take up several TAG pages and suffice. We can
decide on the first highlighted committee after guidelines or vision
statements are available.

** Send MCM (or just Membership committee, if preferred) the projected
printing schedule for label preparation planning

** Send MCM (or just Communications committee, if preferred) the TOC for
current issue as soon as it is available. The TOC to be posted on web
page... with projected mailing date. Here is the current one. (projected
mailing date, depends on receipt of labels)

**Until the important Budget and Appropriations Committees get established,
I strongly suggest that an adhoc committee be established which uses the
quarterly report to develop a tentative barebones budget. This can identify
approximate costs for typical expenditures like printing, mailing, outreach
(e.g.sponsoring clubs), and allows a small but reasonable amount of money
for 'potential requests' from the committees for new needed expenditures.
This will provide the SC/MCM with the ability to make reasonably
intelligent case by case decisions. Is this a motion?

ADDENDUM:
*All appropriate committees should include in their guidelines/vision... a
statement to this effect:
Encourage members to share information/knowledge/experiences about aquatic
plants for publication in TAG. The most likely committees include SC,
Education, TAG, Membership, Regional, ???
*Need TO DO List (for SC?)
e.g. find Chair for Sales Committee
