I know. You never know how things will go. Sometimes you bring in
something really choice and rare, and it goes for a song. Other times,
something ridiculous will be bid up to an outrageous price.

Well, I wonder who _he's_ been talking to.<g>

He hasn't got it quite right either. Merrill is supposed to be our
regional coordinator, who is supposed to get people in various parts of the
world to be sort of a liason between themselves and local aquatic
gardeners. You are probably doing all that a liason would do already,
except that we'd also like these people to feed info, ideas, suggestions,
etc. from these local people back to AGA. Even send in short news tidbits
about what's going on in a region, and certainly news of any "plant
happenings" like your auction. My idea was that if AGA had a more
"personal" face... people who were close enough to each other to actually
get to know each other and share with one another we would lose the
perception that AGA was "just" a subscription to a magazine.

So far, as with all things AGA, it's been a slow start. Erik kind of does
it for Seattle, I do it for the NEC clubs, and Dave does it for his group
in SF just as I'm sure you and Steve do your share with the Vancouver
group. But there's been no real organized effort yet. Maybe now that Bob
is chairperson, and Mary has taken over as editor, and Neil and she have
TAG back on schedule, we should get that questionaire you so diligently put
together published in TAG and out to our members.

I think I'll forward your letter to me and my response to the AGA MC and
see what other people have to say.
