People are much more >> likely to volunteer to do some work if they perceive that it is a fun, >vibrant organization than if people sit around looking glum and complaining about how over worked they are. I AGREE! I have tentatively decided to attend the NEC (still need to check my work schedule, get decent airfare, etc), like Erik, I would like to avoid a protracted and depressing business meeting. KAREN and other NEC attendees: Regarding weekend schedule, what time on Friday do you suggest would be a good time to arrive. I could come early if Claus or any of the AGA MC will be there.... or if there is something interesting to do. ERIK, Your propsed agenda for business meeting sounds good (Mary, bookstore, website, incorporation (v.brief), Unusual plant service, plant contest) I don't think we should announce the plant service until we have a definite plan(first time announced was at NEC 2 or 3 years ago!). The plan is simple: incorporation (when), then confirmation that FAN is still willing to do it. [It has been years since I last worked out an arrangement... so I will revisit concept, but ONLY when we are REALLY ready]. BTW, what is the schedule for incorporation? Regarding bookstore, this is a good positive AGA thing to report.... one of our better services. Regarding its history, I _propose_ that we send Gomberg a nice note.... on official letter AGA letter head (and not email if possible) to thank him for his years of dedicated service, etc. I suggest we have an new policy for the 21th century - we formally acknowledge our dedicated volunteers. --Neil
