AGA Contest

I have finally had a chance to read over James Purchase's proposal and
have the following comments:

1.    This is a very impressive volunteer effort and I support it
wholeheartedly.  This is just the sort of
thing that a club like the AGA needs to interest the membership and
generate new members, articles, etc.

2.    I suggest that we waive the entry fee for AGA members.  We really
need to start demonstrating to
our membership that they receive benefits other than TAG (I have
received several comments/complaints
regarding this lately).  It seems to me that this is worthwhile, even if
we spend $500 to $1,000 to promote
and run the contest.  After all, we should be spending our treasury to
benefit our members.

3.    Can I still enter if I have Karen photograph my tanks?

Regarding the Maylaysian grant, I think this is a good idea (see (2) above.
Perhaps the grantees can provide us with several articles and photos for use
with TAG.  How about $1,000?  We should check them out and make sure
that they
are legit.  (How?)

Also, per Herman's request, I move that we give them a complimentary
subscription to TAG.
