I think a two year term would be better.  As people move on in life and in 
the various aspects of their hobby, finding new "blood" to fill a long term 
on a board would be most difficult.  Again, instead of reinventing the wheel, 
let's follow where others have gone and improve on what they have done (ie 
the AKA and ACA, again).
