Re: Showcase results
If TAG is slow enough the results will be old news by the time I could
publish them. In that case I would not see any point in running
them. Also there is the question of wasted duplicated effort, it would
seem silly to publish the same info in two places (like the same shot of
the winner or whatever). So Mary should pick what she wants, then let me
see the leftovers and I will let you know if I have any interest. I was
saving a pair of pages for the showcase in PAM4, but it sounds like you
won't have the results in time as you originally thought????? I guess I
will use the pages for a report on Chattanooga.
Tell me if this time line is wrong:
Nov 30 Showcase results announced, big talk on APD
Dec 29 PAM 4 ships with no Showcase results or pics
Feb 15 TAG Q1 arrives in hands of readers with Showcase results
Apr 15 PAM 5 arrives in hands of readers with ?????
It seems like the news is almost five months old by the time PAM5 readers
see it, why would they care? What can we put in PAM 5 that would be of
interest? What can we put in PAM 4 that would be of interest? I await
concrete suggestions from the AGA board.

The only requirement is that the results must appear in TAG "first". I
believe that Mary will be trying to get Q1 TAG out the door before she
leaves on the Amazon at the end of January, so it would seem like Q1 PAM
would be an appropriate place for this article? What are the schedules
for the next two PAM's?
I wonder if an alternative would be to present a two page "announcement of
the announcement of the winners"? Though the results themselves won't be
available to submit for publication November 30th, we might be able to
present some of the pictures and a pointer to the website for the lowdown.
As a mere listing of winners to me would seem wasted space in PAM, perhaps
this would be more interesting, and allow a "best-of-both-worlds?"
I will leave this to you and James to figure out
