Hi , Kaspar Horst (of Aquarium Heute and Dupla fame) is currently judging the AGA Aquascaping Showcase and Contest, and would like to write an article from Aquarium Heute about the event. Here are his words: "Other question: After publishing this wonderful International aquascaping Showcase & Contest (I think the First in Internet) I want to write an greater article in my magazine "Aquarium heute" in German language and in "Aquarium oggi" in Italian language. If the competitors of the contest are in agreement with that, I need from the best 8 oder 10 Entries pictures on a CD with Fine dates for Mac-Systems. Is that possible?" I think this is an excellent idea. Read the words from James below (which I have edited to include the relevant part only); he beleives we should come to a speedy decision on this. - Erik -- Erik Olson erik at thekrib dot com ---------- Forwarded message ---------- Date: Sun, 19 Nov 2000 13:26:39 -0500 From: James Purchase <jpurch@interlog.com> To: Erik Olson <erik@thekrib.com> Subject: Re: Aquarium Heute > > He has also asked for a copy of the final > > winners list and background material on how we planned the whole event (I > > can give him that with no problems, but won't until you and the MC sign off > > on it). > Please make the other MC members aware of the fact that there is a bit of time pressure here. Kaspar will probably want to get this into print as quickly as he can, while it is still fresh. From my point of view, it can show the AGA off in a VERY positive light on an International scale. Hopefully they will see it in the same light. I do hope that Mary doesn't continue with her "it's an TAG exclusive" attitude. I undertook this as an AGA member and an very greatful for the support that it has received from the AGA MC. Sharing the results and the "story" with others does not in any way take away from the organization or its goals. If TAG was published on a regular schedule and in multiple languages I might think differently, but this event and the story behind it is obviously of interest to more than just AGA members. Over the past year and a half I have come to a new understanding of how difficult it can be to work with other volunteers via e-mail and that is something that a hobby group will probably always face. When we can get a push from a respected "commercial" magazine with an international presence, it's a plus that can't be ignored. Especially when the editor of the magazine is one of the co-founders of Dupla. (George Booth would probably be pleased..... <g>). Finally, should there be any sizeable objections from the MC members, please make them aware that Kaspar's interest here is primarily in the Showcase/Contest and not necessarily in the sponsoring organization. This will be a free ride for the AGA and give the group some very valuable exposure in areas where it might not be as well known as it is here in North America. James
