He e-mailed me last week and said he'd work on it when he got back.

Unless something changes, there has really been nothing new to report
here since the last issue.

Here's an idea I was tossing around (and why I didn't title my column
"From the Chair"): what about if we have different members of the steering
committee write the column sometimes, especially on these sorts of
"off" months. This would give the TAG readers a more diverse background on
the people running the organization. I dunno, maybe?

In another area, the TAG archive project is now 100% complete with TAG
v1n1 through v13n4 (Neil dug up the remaining AAGA stuff I was missing).
This marks ten years of the current AGA, and is where I stop scanning.
Anyone who would like to evaluate a CD-ROM of this let me know. I have
decided it is not worth bringing the sale topic up for discussion again
without first giving people a chance to actually LOOK at the things, but
I'm starting to muster up the strength to bring up the topic again (see
next paragraph).

In a related area, John Glaeser was very happy to receive the convention
archive; he was planning on using his copy at a meeting of the Madison
folks this month. I ran a similar meeting here in Seattle last week,
discussing the showcase diversity and then showed the little convention
10-minute "promo video" and some "highlight" clips from the convention,
about 5 minutes from each talk. People seemed to really enjoy this, and
Kathy even said she got more out of this than she did with some of the
original talks (mostly Karen's because we fast-forwarded through a lot of
the debating and posturing :)). Anyway, point being, I'm starting to
think it's worth pursuing with you guys again. But it's not worth
debating until folks have actually SEEN what I'm proposing. So if anyone
would like a copy of THIS archive CD for evaluation as well, let me know.

In a somewhat related area, "CD project #3" is not complete yet. This
would be the showcase CD that we're supposed to sell. So far I've only
gotten two checks for this, so I haven't really been motivated to finish
it. I had to do most of the technical work in order to present the thing
at the local meeting a week ago (with no direct Internet connection), so
it's just some little fluff that remains. Perhaps when I get a third
check... :)

PS: Hey, all you amazon-bound folks, have a GREAT time. Also check the
latest Buntbarsche Bulletin... the fish we gave to Lee Newman made the
cover and lead article! Lee is SO nice to us in his article too.
