I think we should have a more complete list of suggested names and a 2 or 3 
year plan before calls are made. (2001 suggestions so far: Kasselmann, Horst, 
Barr, Giacosa, Walstad, industry folks?? academia??). This way we know that we 
have a list of "potentials" for the following year. Lets not leave the barrel 
empty (or have to rely on repeats of the 1999 speakers :-)
Also, when would we like to have the "summit," with multiple big names. I am 
happy to help with long-range planning. Maybe 3 of us can _quickly_ sort it out 
and then report to the whole MCM. Anyone else interested? 

Also, we need to decide about travel expenses for domestic speakers. Same as 
last year? (none), or if to reimburse, based on what convention budget? This 
would also
depend on the target and achievable number of attendees and guestimated 
revenues. For this, maybe a different subgroup should brainstorm.
