Oh yes, checks are fine too, so long as they're on the
barrelhead ;-)  . 

It's nice to be able to keep the cash drawers discrete so
that we can know what money came from what. It helps us
afterwards get a better picture of what worked and how,
financially speaking.  It also helps avoid misscounts and
lost funds.
