thanks I understand more, do you know why we didn't qualify for 501 (c)3 On Wed, 27 Oct 2004, S. Hieber wrote:
Well, I'm neither an enforcer nor an auditor for the state of VA. But I believe I have a responsibility to state the requirements and the penalties as best I understand them. ACA would be able to get an exemption from VA because it is federally recognized under 501(c)3 -- that's the platinum cup of tax exempt status, a non-profit charitable or educational organization. AGA's application under 501(c)3 did not succeed but resulted in the IRS suggesting that we reapply under 501(c)7, which we have done. The application is pending but the IRS did cash the check for the application fee. sh --- Kathy Olson <kathy@thekrib.com> wrote:Scott, This is interesting, never occured to me, I am not sure ACA or NEC does this.
