[AGA-mcm] Re: AGA-mcm Digest, Vol 2, Issue 65

OK, so far, I know that Rick Dotson will set up a table for me, near registration probably. My table can hold all the AGA stuff, whatever that is, brochures, membership info, TAG issues that will not be in auction. I'll have all the remaining T-shirts and perhaps a display board (I can pick one up) with a few sizes, pricing, sales hours. I have a badge on that says "Ask me about AGA shirts".

I'll keep records of what I sell to who (just in case someone wants to get a Christmas gift for someone else) and payment method, keeping my funds separate from all registration funds. I will bring a ziplock bag for cash and some change. T-shirts are $15, cash or check only. No sales tax ( a very big thanks to all who worked on that question!)

I can be available to sell T-shirts there through Prime Time for check-ins (whenever that is, Thursday night, Friday morning?). After the convention is rolling, I'll leave the display and a sign stating what remaining hours I'll be there for sales, or if I've moved to the hospitality suite (if that is OK, seems like a fun place to park myself and my bag of shirts in the evening.)

I will be at the hotel starting Tuesday as I plan to be sightseeing during the day but typically I'll be back in the hotel after dark so if anyone needs help bagging plants, bundling TAG issues for auction sets, or a sparkling dinner companion, I'm available.

Yes at every national event in fish or even dog shows
for that matter that I have attended works like Kathy
mentioned.

The host club as part of their representing the
national organization provides a table. It is
typically manned by the national club members but is
given a premium placement ie. rigt next to convention
registration table to ensure everyone who attends the
conference sees it.

This is where books, back issues of magazines ie TAG,
and T-shirts, etc are sold. There is also a membership
person there to sign folks up or at least educate them
on what the national organiztion does and what
benefits membership provides.

Regards,
Larry

Speaking of the convention, I know the ACA does a
table, separate from the
local club to sell memberships, have ACA info, ACA
book sales etc etc.
The ACA I believe gets this table for free/part of
cooperation with the
local club (Larry may know more details on this
one).

Does the AGA want to do that?? I know the problem
is manning it, usually
we are all running around helping run the convention
(and this year I will
be running after a 10 mo old) I know we talked
about T Shirts sales, not
sure what ever happened with that.

I don't want to offend GWAPA in any way, I know this
is a joint adventure
and that the success of the general convention is by
far EVERYONE"S
PRIORITY. Since it came up about where Ann would
sell shirts and was
never finally decided on, I figured I would toss
this out.

I think the ACA's is in a hall not to take up vendor
room space etc. Now,
GWAPA folks if this in anyway bothers you make sure
you let us know too.

I see conventions as ways to promote the plant
hobby, the AGA, the hosting
club and hopefully make enough money to break even
and maybe bring in
extra for both organizations so they can both do
cool stuff for there
members.

Kathy
