Cheryl! We are finally back. Wow! That was an amazing vacation. Mike and I spent 4 days looking at things in D.C. We tried to do things as cheap as possible - bought Metro passes, ate sandwiches, visited all of the free museums we could (everything on the mall is free and non-government ones usually have one free day per week), and went to free concerts of live music each night at Lincoln Center! Wasn't the convention great! I learned so much. It was sooo cool to watch Amano set up that aquarium. He really plants things close together - and FAST! The pictures of his home were pretty impressive. Now, I believe everyone should have at least one boulder in their yard. I just wish his products were available to us. Jan Bastmeijer was my next favorite speaker. His method of getting crypts to flower was quite interesting. Now, everyone probably wants to try one of those crypts with polka-dot leaves. He had very nice pictures. For some reason I had had this image in my mind of Walter as an older gentleman with perhaps a handlebar mustache and he is this young guy with a diamond in his ear! Putting a face with the name is sometimes surprising. He writes knowledgeable stuff on APC forum and his aquariums are outstanding in my opinion. Now we are back to reality. Thank you so much for bringing those plants back. I will come and get them any time that it is convenient with you. Let me know.
