Not necessarily. At NEC, people have to turn their vendor lists in, and get the corresponding bag tags the day before. (I believe their cut-off time is 12 noon Sat.) Then people can then mark their bags any time they want between then and the next morning. (I'm usually doing mine around midnight ;-) They MUST deliver their tagged merchandise to the auction room between 8-9 (I believe that's the time frame) Sunday AM. The auction crew puts them all out on tabes between 9-10, Viewing is from 10-11, and then the room is closed and the auction starts. A lot of clubs use a similar system, though many also use the colored dot system that someone else mentioned. There are variations on this theme, but people get one or two dots of red, geen, blue and yellow. The red items get auctioned first, then green then blue, then yellow, then everything that is not marked. So people can give priority to items that they think may garner more money for themselves and therfore the club. NEC doesn't do this, but it's easy, and a nice touch. If people are interested, my guess is that the NEC auction guidelines are written out somewhere. I could ask Janine if she's share a copy with us. I do know that the computer system they use is more than my brain can handle. It's been handed down through several sets of auction folk, and it works, but I'm sure it's far from the latest and greatest... I know they still use a dot matrix printer. Heaven knows what they'll do when that thing gives up the ghost!!!<g> Karen Karen _______________________________________________ AGA-mcm mailing list AGA-mcm@thekrib.com http://lists.thekrib.com/mailman/listinfo/aga-mcm
