When you toggle TRACK CHANGES, the status bar on the bottom
of the WORD window should indicate tracking on/off by
greying out or darkening TRK

Are the insetions I made showing up in red underlined text
If you load the doc in MS Word:
Then from the Menu select Tools; Track Changes
This toggles tracking of changes
and
from the menu select View, Markup
This toggles viewing tracked changes.
