Looked pretty good up to this last e-mail. -- Erik Olson erik at thekrib dot com ---------- Forwarded message ---------- Date: Sun, 20 Feb 2005 12:49:54 -0800 From: Thomas Barr <tcbiii@earthlink.net> To: Erik Olson <erik@thekrib.com> Cc: AGA Advisory Committee <aga-mcm@thekrib.com> Subject: Re: [AGA-mcm] Re: AGA convention 2K5 I will try and if not, there's always Plant Fest and Salt fest 2K5. I asked Dave Wilson from Darwin AU if he'd be interested in presenting some of the local biotopes in AU and he said he'd be honored. He's got a ton of stuff. He clogged my mailbox for 3 days. Many new weeds that will bring out the faithful and collectors. Windelov was another.....We could bug Kasper also, Dennerle is too frail, and they are not interested in this market here. I think we will pull it off this year here. We have many folks plugging for it here in the bay. We will promote it heavily. Many will want to come to SF just for fun anyway. But I don't want to rush too much either......... Dave will promote it, I will, Erik, Greg and many others. I think we will get many attendee's here. There are so many things to see that many will have a ton of choices. Nature, SF, the AGA meeting, easy transport, food, sea, LFS's etc It's not a hard place to sell or promote. Seven months is certainly a squeeze.Yep, I think if nothing is found by Mar 10th, Then 2006 is something to think about...........and really, not that bad of an idea either. I'd rather we spend a year+ getting everything lined up and promoted, in order to have a
kickass
2006 convention, than another hellacious rush-job. I certainly think
that
the AGA "management" is OK with having no convention this year if necessary. Great to hear you guys are working on it -- dunno if we'll be able to bring out the whole family by November, but maybe! :) - Erik -- Erik Olson erik at thekrib dot com
