Hopefully to find others in their area with similar interests. My mom 
says I have carte blanche to give any new members in Montana her e-mail 
address. Of course, there are only about 4 members in the whole state ...

Of course, there will be nefarious characters and honest business people 
who mail mail you junk you don't want because you are on the list, but 
that's the risk you take.
