Scott,Your sentiments are mine exactly. While I'm not writing for the magazines right now(any more?<g>) It's pretty easy to track me down... tenacious people do it all the time. ;-)
Like you, even when I was at the height of my writing, I found that some people were still wining about how cliquish we were. However, I NEVER saw any signs that any of the folks who accused us of cliquishness made any attempt to join in the fun of running the organization.

I know a number of folks left APD for AB's forums and then left there for APC. But I can't follow them around. Not to mention that there are over a dozen well-established plant forums and a person can't post on ever more forums just because more are being established. I'm not hard to find if anyone should ever want to. I mostly post on APD and the AGA member list [Plus a set of unrelated computer forums and an audio equipment mail list -- one must have a hobby from one's hobby ;-).] I just don't keep up with the fashion of the latest plant forum. Truth is, I think I miss most being on the old DFWAPC mail list -- that was one fun bunch of serious gardeners. On top of APD and the AGA list, I've done about 25 columns for TAG and AFM on-line (about a dozen in the last 8 months) plus a half dozen print articles in that same period. Plus there's this AGA Treasurer thing. I think it's odd that anyone might possibly think that, for example, I, am cliquish, or hard to find, or not sounding off my big fat mouth pretty far and wide or possibly not giving the hobby its due. Well, yes, I might not be giving it it's due but I'm giving what I can. And as Karen points out, we all have jobs, families, social responsibilities that require a modicum of attention now and then. Of course, others among the MCM have done, and do, much more than I and have been doing it for a much longer time. So I'm not bragging; I'm just saying some folks, I fear, will never be pleased. I think it's great that there are so many forums. Hopefully growth in the hobby will support as many or more. It's great if MCM presence can be spread even farther than it is, but we can only spread so far. sh --- Karen Randall <krandall@rdrcpa.biz> wrote:I do post as often as I can.
