Re: [AGA-mcm] Have you seen the recent TFH?
Except for all the people who say they won't join because we run too much
Amano. <g>
Also, while I think that being able to provide English translations of some
of Amano's articles has been good for the hobby and good for our members, I
don't think that, in and of itself, has had a tremendous impact on our
growth. Nor do I think it has a tremendous impact on the quality of the
magazine.
I think that, just as it is good for the hobby that there are numerous
planted tank BB's springing up, it is also good that the major hobby
magazines are looking to expand their offerings for aquatic gardeners.
Those who can't get enough of Amano have access to a little more this way.
It is one thing to ask our authors to give us first rights to articles we
publish (or, in the case of articles in another language, first N.A. rights)
but it would be pretty unreasonable to expect anyone, let alone someone of
Amano's stature to write only for TAG.

My concern isn't that the articles are the same ro not. It's that TAG is
no longer the only place where people can get english translations of
Amano's articles. That's been a major point in our favor as far as a
benefit of TAG and joining the AGA.
