Re: Re: [AGA-mcm] Re: FW: (fwd) & RW (rwd)

Well, it wouldn't be any fun if we didin't complicate
things at least a little for the Sheppardess of T-shirts
;-).

I wouldn't think that much white would be called for, but
on some colors of fabric a full background color of some
sort might be called for. I guess we should try to get too
fancy if it affects costs.

Sorry to hear about your hard drive. Was this a desktop PC?
If so, think about getting a drive controller card that
supports RAID. For the price of a card and a second drive,
you can have pretty good fault tolerance against a crash --
especially if you also have backups -- you can keep right
on going (in most situations) even if one of the disks
crashes. And in other cases you can restore at least one of
the drives 10 minutes to 1 hour. So very little down time
and you're up and running again. Of course you still have
to replace the failed drive, but sinc ethe computer is
still working, you can do that when it's most convenient.
If it's a laptop, I don't know what your RAID options are,
but someone on this list probably does. Those chiclet boxes
are always more difficult to accomodate than real computers
;-)
