Sending checks is not nearly as tough as the folks on the other end cashing them. At premium banks, there might not be any charges, but at the discount "K-mart" banks, the charges could substantially erode the value of the check. Otoh, buying an item and having it shipped from another continent couldhave much the same result. Amazon operates out of 9 countries if you count the USA, GB, and Oh Canada as three. sh * * * * * * * * * * * The 6th Annual AGA Aquascaping Contest entries are on display: http://showcase.aquatic-gardeners.org As a service to the community the AGA has opened forums: http://forum.aquatic-gardeners.org/ ----- Original Message ---- From: Phil Edwards <biotypical@hotmail.com> To: aga-mcm@thekrib.com Sent: Thursday, January 05, 2006 11:40:51 AM Subject: RE: [AGA-mcm] Contest prizes completed? I vaguely recall talk of sending gift certificates from businesses like Amazon.com or the like. What I'd like to know is if there's a business folks can order aquarium goods from online that will ship internationally. I just called Big Al's and they don't. I'll assume that if BA doesn't ship to Europe and Asia then DRF+S doesn't either. How much fuss is it to get checks sent out internationally? Amazon.com might not be a bad choice. :) Regards, Phil _______________________________________________ AGA-mcm mailing list AGA-mcm@thekrib.com http://lists.thekrib.com/mailman/listinfo/aga-mcm _______________________________________________ AGA-mcm mailing list AGA-mcm@thekrib.com http://lists.thekrib.com/mailman/listinfo/aga-mcm
