Sounds good on both to me! Karen From:

---- When the AGA sells an Aquarium Plant Handbook to an AGA customer,
it costs the AGA $30 plus
the cost to ship to the customer. We are selling them for $25
including domestic shipping to members and for $30 to
nonmembers. Time may have ticked a heaven round the stars but it has
also chipped a flaw into our business model. I'm estimating costs to the AGA for domestic shipping run about
$3.50 or $4 per customer including envelope and postage. Therefore, when the new shipment arrives, I suggest pricing at $35
members and $40 nonmembers. This provides a little cushion to allow
future increases in AGA costs to ship to customers. I think we can still sell
them at these prices, although it might take two or three years instead of one
or two. Also, I suggest that if and when it might convenient,
the website show that the book is *not in stock* but expected in a few
weeks-- it currently *appears* to be in stock. I realize it's easy for me to
say this since I don't have to do the fiddling with the web page.
Also, it would have helped if I had alerted you folks sooner. mea culpa. Note that the increased book costs to the AGA are due to
increased transportation charges for transport from the publisher to the AGA,
likely due to fuel costs. sh |
