The problem with Rendering to Blu-Ray right now is that the
current
release of Sony Vegas (8.0c) has a curious bug in it. When
using a
computer with more than two processors or cores, it will
crash. I have a
workaround, which is to tell the OS to only use 2 cores.
With that, I am
now rendering AVC files (taking approximately 10 hours per
talk). This
will get me to my next problem, namely the lack of a
Blu-Ray burner.
The recording is OK -- I rendered mpeg2 files when we were
previewing.
Problem there is that format takes 12 gigabytes per hour.
And now you know!

It's a joke... :) Much like
"Monster" toslink cables or gold-plated CDs, the
printed surface has no effect on the quality of
the recording...it either plays back
or it doesn't.

I did do something special with 23 or so
sets -- they're on shiny
Watershield media instead of the usual
matte-finish. You can really
tell
the difference when you play them
(wink). But as I had to make about 40
sets, I couldn't send everyone shiny
disks.

Hey, I got my second Blu-Ray request.
Unfortunately, having trouble
rendering them, so I'd just about
abandoned the idea. Will have to
re-think. :)
