I've only had to initiate a dispute once in the past and that was after exhausting numerous avenues of trying to resolve the issue.  The fact that this "gentleman" didn't bother speaking with us first really bothers me.  It's like Mike said, deal with him to get him out of our hair and don't do business with him again.
