Selling them to members only was just an idea to
make this a special benefit for the members investing their money in this
project. I'm fine with selling them to anyone, but I think the members
should get something "extra" for their front end investment - a
discount, an exclusive to purchase for 6 months before the booklet
is available to the general public, a chance to get signed copies,
something like that that is not available unless a person is a member.
We should also definitely make a profit on each
copy we sell (members and the general public) to provide the membership
with some reimbursement for their investment up front, too.
For example (this is an example, not a cost
estimate), if we can put them together for about $5 each, sell them to members
for $9.99 ppd, and non-members for $14.99 ppd. That way we only have to
sell half (or less than half if a lot of non-members buy them) of the copies we
print to break even. Everything above that is profit for the AGA.
It's even better if we find an on-demand publisher to print and drop ship them
for us. That way we've got no carrying costs at all, and no investment
beyond the costs to put the booklet together.

I'll take the opposite viewpoint and say if this is
something we want to do, then we should take anyone's money who is willing to
part with it. Maybe we could give members a discounted price.
