I agree, as long as people can conveniently get from the airport to the
Westin, if that's cheaper, we might as well use that one.  Most Westins are
nice, and the photos of this one look like it is too.  And you're right, if
we're going to have to arrange transportation out to FAN no matter where we
are, it really doesn't matter whether it's 5 miles away or 20.

I have enclosed a graphic showing the four hotels in relation to FAN on a 
map.  It helped me visualize things.

You must ignore the "how far away from FAN" quotes from the rep, as they 
are not accurate.

The one in Plantation is 5 miles away by freeway.
THe two in Ft. Lauderdale proper are about 18-19 miles by freeway.
The one near the airport is 15 miles by freeway.

But what I basically see is that all the hotels will require some form of 
transportation.  I don't see much of a point with going with Plantation in 
that case.

The Westin is cheaper.  It is also 13 miles from the International 
Airport, not 3 miles.  If they have a comp shuttle, it seems like a 
no-brainer to me.
