Re: [AGA-mcm] Hotels on a map
I have been to Miami 2-3 times a year the last few years and it is still the way Larry describes most of the time. It depends on where you are flying from and what deals are being offered. However usually its cheaper and easier to get a flight to MIA. So far (for me) it has never been cheaper or worth the money you would save to fly into Ft Lauderdale then drive to Miami. So I'm not sure the opposite situation would be any better.
MIA airport is 28 miles from Ft Lauderdale Airport (Hollywood International), but its like going through any city, 28 miles can take forever in traffic. MIA is on the south side of Miami.
I am flying to Ft Lauderdale in January and Jet Blue has one flight going down on the day I'm going and one flight coming back on the day I'm returning. So these days, getting a flight in slower trafic times might not be an option either.
A friend flew Norfolk, VA to Ft Lauderdale last year and it was cheaper from him. He flew Northwest.
