To everyone here on the Advisory Committee, Thank you very much for making 2009 a year for me to remember and look back on fondly. As some of you already know, I was finally diagnosed with severe depressive disorder in January and have been undergoing therapy to help me get my head on straight. I'm sure y'all have seen the various ups and downs I've been going through and I want to express my heartfelt gratitude to all of you who've sent me words of encouragement and kindness during the bleak times. In these times of near instant gratification via internet forums it may seem to some that groups such as ours may not be what they once were. To me, the AGA is not about answering questions or stroking peoples' egos ooooing and aaaaahhing over pictures. The AGA is about the community of aquatic gardeners supporting eachother. This year proved that to me time and time again. Everyone here on this list has had some direct effect on making the AGA what it was this past year. That means you are all responsible in some way for making this one person's year a better and brighter time that it otherwise would have been. I can't express how much that means to me.
