With all the fans you'll need, the metal halides can get loud. Mine do. If 
they're close to the water's surface, i.e. 6-8 inches, they will definitely 
get hot and require fans. The fans on my Jalle 96W power compacts are pretty 
loud and often don't even work. Those JBJs have a reputation for the fans 
malfunctioning as well.

I would either try and repair your fan, I don't know, put some oil on it or 
something, or do like I do: set your heaters lower and let the lights heat 
the water. Ninety gallons shouldn't cool too much over night. At worst my 
temperatures can swing from 75 degrees F to 77-78, and that's a 55G. The 
plants/fish/shrimp haven't experienced any ill effects whatsoever.

If you have good lights, I'd do whatever I could to make sure I wouldn't 
have to replace them.
