In the last two years I wrote many articles on this issue in a Turkish
aquarium journal. It is hard to summarize all the statistics and
developments. We have two general aquarium related societies in Ankara and
Istanbul and there is no plant specific society. Sometimes we are lucky to
be able to find Tropica plants here. But most of the time what we find is
the plants from Singapore and Thiland via illegal ways. In 2004 and 2005
there were planted aquarium contests. In 2004 18 tanks were submitted and in
2005 I guess it was 34.
