Was talking with Karen a little over the last few days, and I think I might be OK volunteering to take over Bob's recent vacancy and "steer the committees". I see this more as an accounting process rather than "ruling", and can rationalize volunteering from that perspective. I am a little reluctant about it because it's clearly not a "fun" job; I knowa---I've now done this job twice in other forums (first in organizing the group of people via e-mail that rewrote the aquaria FAQ back in 1994, and then as president of our local club for three years). I'm sure I'll tick people off because I get a little pushy when things don't get done, but perhaps that's what we need right now. Ideally, I'd just like to keep track of what issues are open, who's court the ball is in, what needs to be done, etc. To this end, I'd probably have something on the website viewable at any time by the MC and/or SC, kind of a cross between meeting notes and a spreadsheet (still thinking on that one). The other thing is that (if you'll have me) I'd like to try it "off the record" for a few months before making anything official. This would dovetail quite well into Bob's proposal to remain on in name for a little. It's unfortunate that I'd ordered my scanner toys before the announcement, and they arrived this week... clearly the "fun" project of archiving TAG has taken more of my thoughts. - Erik -- Erik Olson erik at thekrib dot com ------------------ To unsubscribe from this list, e-mail majordomo@thekrib.com with "unsubscribe aga-sc" in the body of the message.
