I make the following motion on how we get started
on the new and improved TAG.
Erik's idea, which I guess we have agreed to, of
the "interim TAG" is great, and it will give us the opportunity to announce
things about AGA that are pretty exciting -- like that we are now incorporated
(not that that is all that exciting), that we are going to be offering back
issues of PAM, that we have decided that the Convention is going to be an annual
event, and that we are going to put some new life into TAG and will be coming
out 4 times a year now. Good stuff!
MY MOTION IS THAT:
AGA establish a Publications
Committee, the Chairperson of which will be the Editor of TAG. As Chairperson
the Editor can also appoint others for the committee, and to handle separate
tasks and interests as required.
The position of Editor of TAG be paid
$650 per issue of TAG.
The Board of Directors will decide
among ourselves who we would like to see in the position, and then offer it to
that person.
As a separate thought and not part of the motion I
have been thinking that the Editor decide and
implement the new and improved TAG, including at his/her discretion the
following
* establish an annual budget for
TAG
* decide whether and how much
TAG would pay for articles
* have regular columns, such as
a Beginner's Corner, a Plant of the Issue, etc.
* solicit advertising from the
same folks who advertised in PAM
