Fw: MISSING ISSUE jan/march

Hi everyone,

Erik is right, we need to do something about this. I think we need to post
something on the membership list, AND have a letter to the members in the
next TAG. Diana's tone is really bugging me also. Here we are trying our
best to make a good impression, this issue wasn't even very late, (we were
late by about 2 weeks because we were waiting for much-needed advertisers)
and she's making it sound like they're going to be luck if they ever get
anything at all.

As Erik said, it's not my fault or Cheryl's that the last editor just
decided to stop publishing without notice. Nor is it my fault that the last
issue was dated as it was. There is absolutely no way that we can catch up
with the lost issues. Either in terms of finding that much material OR in
terms of affording to print them in that short a period of time.

I have read Diana's whining on the MCM and I have to tell you, I'm not happy
with it. I'm wondering whether we should have the MCM list at all if the
only purpose is for people to take pot shots at those who are working
hardest to improve the organization.

The current TAG should be in people's hands now or shortly. We already are
working hard on the next issue that should be out in August (barring more
advertiser delays) followed by the last issue for this year in November.
Considering the track record of past editors, both AGA and PAM, I'm feeling
kind of picked on at the moment, considering we were starting from scratch,
trying to do something new, AND trying to get advertisers, I don't think
being a couple of weeks later than originally planned is a very big deal.
Except for holding for the ads, we were ready to go on schedule.

Sorry for the vent. I kept my mouth shut over the Enron comments, (thanks
to those of you who stood up for us) but this is too much. This guy wasn't
upset, he was rather up-beat. Diana had the opportunity to either simply
explain the situation to him in a positive manner, or ask one of us to
respond if she didn't want to deal with it herself. Instead, she took the
opportunity to make us look bad.

Karen

Dear Michael,

Sorry, but I don't think that there even was a Jan/March issue. In any
case, I don't have anything to send you. I've sent this letter to Jack
O'Leary who's in charge of membership. I think the AGA plan is that
everyone gets the issues owed them, but when they'll come out is not as
certain.

Please help or connect me with the right person.

My subscription was change over from The Planted Aquarium. The first issue
of the Aquatic Gardener I received was the July/Dec.issue. I just received
the April/June issue - therefore I didn't receive the Jan/March issue.
Please send the missing issue to me as soon as you can. I really enjoy your
publication.

PS please respond to this email so that I can know when the issue is sent
out.

Much thanks,

Michael Buffardi
