Re: TAG

Hi Dorothy (& co)

With all the ruffling going on with one dialog (don't ask), I completely
forgot to point out to you guys that I'm making progress on another front.

I received a bunch of e-mails from members in the last couple weeks, much
like Dorothy's.... "where's my TAG?" "I sent my check months ago!" etc.

Jack wants out. He's been very very busy or something; it sounded
serious. He's had a stack of membership stuff that hasn't been dealt
with for a bit. I'm not completely sure, but he has said he's getting to
it now.

I am taking the first step towards a transition in membership duties. I
have set up an online membership database that is accessed via a
password-protected website. We can then find someone to take over or
share membership duties while at the same time maintaining a certain
control over the database ourselves. It can also transition from person
to person without a lot of fanfare. As I pointed out to Jack, he can even
update entries for stragglers once someone else has taken over the primary
job. David could process renewals directly when receiving PayPal
payments (if he wants). Folks like me can answer people's e-mail asking
if their address is correct or if they were mailed the latest TAG.

Jack is OK with this plan, and is assisting me in making sure the new
database is sufficient for our needs. Yesterday I was able to succesfully
integrate an older version of Jack's excel spreadsheet into the database,
and I am hoping to have the "real" one transitioned sooner.

What I need from the rest of you guys is help on finding a victim to run
this. Alternatively, I will run it if we can find a new victim to be
president.
