BAS Open House

Thank you all for your responses to my "complaining" yesterday.  Thought
I've fill you in on the better news today.  I'm finally sitting down after
the last of the people have left the house.  We probably had close to 50
people here over the course of the afternoon, with lots of "plant talk" and
a good time had by all.

There was good news for AGA as well.  I offered people who joined or renewed
today copies of the last 4 issues.  If they were joining, of course, they
were free to keep them.  If they were renewing, I urged them to take them
anyway, and give them to someone else who might join.  For anyone who joined
(or renewed) for 3 years, I also gave them one of our few remaining
T-shirts.

We got 9 new memberships or renewals, 4 of which were 3 year, 2 for two
years, and the remainder one year memberships for a total of $352!

If we could think of an incentive for members to have an open house in their
area, for even just a FEW people, think how many new members we'd get!
