Re: Clubs?

Hi Patricia,

I will forward this e-mail to our board of directors, which will take care
of AGA.

The quickest way to get word out to a large number of clubs is through the
regional organizations. Northeast Council of Aquarium Societies is our big
one here in the Northeast. (New England plus New York and New Jersey):

http://www.northeastcouncil.org/html/

BTW, Fancy Pubs regularly has a booth at the NEC convention which is held in
March or April of each year. But NEC will also distribute to all the member
organizations as well.

There is also an Aquarium Society web ring based at:

http://www.petsforum.com/was/fishclub/fishclub.html

You can get the contact info for many organizations there.

CAOAC is the Canadian umbrella organization for aquarium societies:

http://www.caoac.on.ca/FramesetMain.html

I haven't checked out the site, but I suspect you'll find the contact info
for many of the Canadian clubs there.

There's also a big list on the Krib:

http://faq.thekrib.com/organizations.html

You might want to suggest to your promotional people that Fancy Pubs could
do worse than taking a booth at the AGA convention in Dallas in Nov. We
have a great line-up of speakers and we're expecting a big crowd. There are
also several local Texas clubs involved, so they'd get a lot of exposure.
If they are interested, they can contact Convention chair, Larry Lampert:

l_lampert@yahoo.com

Hope that gives you a good start! Remember that not all clubs remain active
during the summer months, so don't give up if you don't hear back from some
until September.

Karen

Karen,

I know you are involved with the AGA....Our circulation department would
like to approach clubs to offer a program where they can receive discount
subscription cards which they can distribute at their meetings, in new
member packets, etc. They can also use these cards to renew their
subscriptions at reduced rates.

I will look for the AGA postal address on their website, but if you're
involved in any other clubs, would you be able to give us their names (and
address, if you have it)? Also, if you've heard of any other clubs and only
know their names, we can try to find their address; so, please also send
just any fish club names you know of. We're just trying to get a list going.
Small clubs and big clubs both are fine.

Thanks!

Patricia
