I think Scott's analysis of the situation is right on. Besides the fact that there are other very worthy people in the hobby who have or will pass on, the "who and how" questions are big. AGA is usually short of man-power to get the "must do" activities covered. Memorial awards are typically permanent, and permanent is a big commitment. OTOH, how do we say no without alienating folks. Can we come up with a creative alternative? Or suggest a place for them to donate these funds? What about suggesting a memorial donation to the Tennesee Aquarium as the public aquarium most dedicated to use of aquatic plants in their displays?
