There was so much stuff and so many time conflicts that the
organization of those things went on right up to the last
day. It's a shame so much much stuff was wedged in -- but
it's pretty neat that they pulled them off pretty smoothly
when the bell finally rang.

I think the Silent Auciton was the single biggest total
screw-up of the Dallas Convention. There was no Silent
Auction until it had been going on for about 20 minutes.
Three or four people (espeically Erik and Tim) jumped in
and pulled the thing together. That's why the first couple
of round seemed disorganized (disorganized? it was worse
than it looked, believe me) but it ran pretty smooth once
things were set up. With preplanning, it could have been a
breeze.

I don't claim to be an expert but seeing the things that
went wrong with the Silent and Live Auctions was a great
education-- better than if things had run like clockwork.

2 cents and change back,
