Real accounting can be very complicated, but nothing AGA
does requires the complicated stuff. So the basics can get
us by.  *Everything* has to go somewhere -- if you don't
put it here then you have to put it there (or make a
"there" for it).  It's all innies and outies and to the
extent they don't match, you're making or losing money. If
you track the innies and outies by item, you can tell which
items are adding to or subtracting from the bottom line.
There are reasons to do things other then net revenue --
but whatever the motivation for an activity, it's nice to
know what's impacting the bottom line and how, given that
money is a relatively important resource. ;-)
