Actually, from what I read, PageMaker was really at a dead-end. They started completely from scratch with InDesign. Took them 2 revisions before they got it right (but hey, Microsoft always takes 3 or 4!). But it's really a nice program. Great native PDF support. Colors look right on the monitor while you're working with them. Great font support. And of course, requires a new computer to do all that insane computation.
