I know he was miffed at me that I wouldn't give him permission to use a bunch of my stuff on his site. This was way before the BB, and it was JUST a place for him to sell stuff. I felt funny about giving him permission to use my articles when I didn't even know who he was. It felt like I was endorsing his business without any first hand knowledge. I told him that the articles were already out on the web in a number of places, and he was welcome to link to them. But he wanted to set it up so that people didn't leave his site.
