Re: [AGA SC] Another perspective on the AGA "Forum" proposal

I'd like to get some outside views -- and by "outside" I

irks the hell out of the DFWAPC folks that AB is so
successful. They realize that their local club isn't likely
to beat AB, but surely someone can beat that rascal AB! And
so they look to us. Maybe that's not it.

Oh, you nailed it, Scott. I have heard at least two officers of the DFWAPC state their feelings in those terms precisely. I don't know what AB ever did to them, maybe they have good reason for feeling that way. But I was *at* the meeting where TIM (then President) called RH an @sshole in a speech to the members. He did not mince words.

Maybe th world is
waiting for AGA to launch the forums. If we build it they
will come.

You know, I wouldn't be surprised. You never know what is going to take off. I think AGA, and the world in general, is lacking a sense of community. I am hoping to nudge that along this year. I don't remember what I said before, but I think the forums are a good idea *if* they aren't too much work for the BOD. As a matter of fact, I think that there should be a section of the forum called "Administravia" and one member of the BOD would be moderator of that section. No Board members would moderate any other section.

Do the San Fran folks think the same way -- although last I
heard, the club was melting?
