This will be very easy to see -- either the number of
members is bigger or not. Rarely does as project have such
a clear and objective and quantifiable performance measure.

It helps that membership numbers have been more or less steady since we went to database.

We might be doing that, hanging around 800-900 or we might
be replacing more or less. I don't think we know the
composition of memberships. We don't know how long each
member has been a member, do we? Only when their last
membership started.

Not true, at least no longer true since since we went to database. I input a date for "The Last Time They Paid" and a date for "Member Since." Everyone who was on Jack's spreadsheet when Erik imported it into the database has a date of Jan 1, 1991, a nearly meaningless date.

If I *really* wanted to, I could look up a member's name in Jack's spreadsheet and see how long they've been a member.
