But Bailin thinks we should approach them with a proposal of what we'd like, and start from there. I agree. but don't know what to ask for. What would a club like to have from Seachem? And what is the incentive for Seachem to give its support?
I *know* that they are supporting DFWAPC with donated goods. The only benefits I think Seachem gets are links all over the DFWAPC page, and the fact that Ricky runs around hollering "Buy Seachem! Buy Seachem!" at every meeting.
And that's cool. Nothing wrong with that. But I'm not sure the AGA is in a position to enforce that at local club meetings. And what if we want to do a deal with Kent Botanica? Or whatever? What does Kent get out of it?

Hi Cheryl, More catching up...In answer to the question "What incentive can we offer clubs to join after the first year?"One possibility is a convention DVD set of the current year.I probably *will* re-release the older conventions as DVDs as well, so that might also be something we can provide.Another possibility is a copy of whatever new book we're offering in the bookstore. The key there is that we'd have to offer new books every year, which I don't think we can yet.Anyway, just some ideas. - Erik ---------- Forwarded message ---------- Date: Thu, 22 Jul 2004 10:33:08 -0500 From: Cheryl Rogers <cheryl@wilstream.com> Reply-To: aga-sc@thekrib.com To: aga-sc@thekrib.com Subject: [AGA SC] Group Discount and Premium Club Program Hey Y'all: It's been a hectic summer. Here is a "presentation" to be mailed to a *select few* plant-related clubs or clubs that have a strong planted tank inclusion. Phil is working on that list. I don't expect much activity on this front until 2005, if then. But I'd rather dip my toes in gradually than plunge in and find out about my mistakes the hard way, possibly drowning the club long with me. Please look this over and tell me what you think. Play devil's advocate; let me know where this might trip up. Back to work on TAG, which has so many photos it's eating my lunch... Cheryl
