The info from Fred at ACA is good info to have but it is a bit unsettling for one reason. ACA received tax-exempt status under the terms that AGA was supposedly refused, as a charitable, educational organization. If ACA can get that status, I don't see why the AGA can't also. I don't think there is a fundamental diff in how we operate. I strongly believe, and Fred at ACA seems to confirm this, that we need a specialist, a professional at tax-exempt status, to guide our application, or at least it's preparation. I don't think a lay person will know just which additional forms might prove helpful to the case we have to make, or what wording on them might prove the most promising. Given that we've already tried this once and it didn't work out, I suggest that the Board consider hiring someone to consult. That's not a formal motion, that's a suggestion for the sake of discussion. sh ===== It's the contest that started international competition in aquascaping planted aquaria!
