I suspect that the convention committee has it wrong.  I think Ray is
representing lee, just as he does other vendors.  Particularly in Lee's
case, where so much of his inventory is one-of-a-kind, or at least hard to
find, I can't imagine him wanting to LEAVE inventory with Ray.  Further, I
can't imagine Ray, who is trying to lighten his load these days, agreeing to
schlepp bins of heavy books around.  It just doesn't sound right.  (and
remember, most of the convention committee aren't really clear on who Ray is
or what he does, either.
