Re: [AGA-sc] Always look on the Bright side of life -- or - very rough financial tidbits

Excellent news. Part of what is making things work is that we've cut down on the excessive freebies and bad management of book purchases.

PS: About 2/3 through Amano's TALK editing, sound is good (whew).

PPS: Cheryl, when you get a chance, I could use a tally of all the media sold (need to request a reim from Scott), and when you get a WAaaaaay later chance (like in 2 weeks), maybe a list of all the pre-orders for 2004 DVDs.

Okay, this is preliminary, subject to change, not for

deny that I ever said it.

The bank account is hovering around $30,000 to $34,000. The
total balance was roughly $29,900 when I opened the account
and had received the final transfers from the previous bank
account.

This $30,000-plus figure includes the revs due to the
Gomberg and Amano books *as well as the payments* to
Gomberg and Amano related to those items. This does not
include any money from AGA2K4. Otoh, it does not include
any allowance for taxes or related fees and penalties that
might be imposed when the IRS decides what to do with us.

Having said all that and hand-waved away the tax issue,
then I think this is safe to safe:

Assuming AGA2K4 does not end up in the red (I want an audit
if it does!) then we appear to be gaining slightly over
prior years.

This isn't a financial report (hah), but it's good news,
apparently, and I thought I'd share it while we've been
ruminating over darker thoughts related to the convention.

Btw, at the risk of making Cheryl feel even more tired, we
grossed $7,877 at the AGA table at AGA2K4 (somebody give
Cheryl a glass of water and elevate her feet!).

After payments to DG and Amano, that comes out to $2,527.
Mind you, I think there are still payments to Diana for her
books sold plus the cost of the Tshirts sold, etc. So
$2,500 is not a net financial figure. However, it's a fair
revenue number for AGA goods, including a few memberships,
shirts, a couple of contest checks, and whatever else we
hawked over the masses in that short time.
