Well, kids, I know you just can't get enough instruction on what you should have done diff (Why on earth do people think they are supposed to agree with judges on subjective decisions?) Well, anyway, I have had a chance to slop together more data and a few guesses, or as finance people call them, expert assumptions (hah), and now offer better info on the AGA sales from 2 weekends ago. I've attached a speadsheet for those that like to see lines around their numbers. But a few highlights are noted below for those that prefer only to see between the lines. The spreadsheet has two pages: The "cash flow" page presents the tallies from Cheryl's excellent recordkeeping-under-fire with a few tweaks by me. It only takes into account the money that moved in or out at (or directly in connection) with the convention activity. The second sheet in the attached file, "Est. Net Rev", is an approximation of the net value of the items sold, taking into account what was paid for the sold items and what was received. There are some guesses in there and further refinements could be made, but I don't think they are off enough to seriously throw off the import of the numbers, which is that we cleared about a thousand dollars. Considering that some of the costs were paid in prior years, and that some of the items had little real value in inventory, we done did pretty good. Good enough that we should have done this before (hah, more second guessing from the barcalounger). Anyway, having already spoiled the surporise, on a net revenue basis, we made about $1,000 over costs. Not bad for three days of volunteers' work where someone else was sucking $100 each out of our prime market. In terms of the money we moved this weekend, my revised count is that we brought in about $7,500 while paying out about $5,700 (is that numerical symmetry just coincidence or does it have a deeper meaning? Naw, just coincidence.) The preponderance of the money moving around was what we took in and paid right back out, handling Amano's book. If you put that special case aside, we moved about $3,000 and held onto nearly $1,800 of it. And we netted (or profited if AGA had any owners) about $1,000 on the $3,000. That's a darned nice rate of return. If I didn't know better, I'd swear you folks were in business for more than just fun. ;-) One thing puzzles me though. We brought 5.5 units of one of the convention DVDs but sold 6 units. Sounds like one heckuva sales job. :-\ Congrats folks, especially Cheryl. Now back to the autopsy alredy in progress . . . sh
