You can't view 640 picture at 800 resolution. This will
cause "pixilation"
and make the picture look like "shit". You can downsize
it but can't enlarge
it.

But can't you just set gallery to show something larger
than 640 at least as an option (supersize it) for viewers
that can handle it? That shouldn't involve any uploading?

server, I resized them all prior to uploading.
 I would have to re do entire gallery.
